Pinetown man accused of killing girlfriend’s lover

It is alleged the accused found his girlfriend with another man.

A 33-YEAR-OLD man appeared in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court for the murder of his ‘girlfriend’s boyfriend’.

According to Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele it is alleged the deceased and his girlfriend attended a party in Nazareth and after the party they went to the girlfriend’s home.

“While they were sleeping, a man who claimed to be the woman’s main boyfriend arrived. When he saw the other man in the house an argument ensued which subsequently led to the 33-year-old man assaulting the deceased who was rushed to the hospital where he later died,” said Manqele.

An intense police investigation led to the arrest of the 33-year-old while he was hiding in Mpumalanga Township on Friday, 8 December. He appeared in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court and the case was postponed until Monday, 18 December for a bail application.
