#MatricResults2017: Pinetown Girls’ class of 2017 pass with 98,9 per cent

The top student at Pinetown Girls achieved seven As followed by Sandisiwe Mthalane with 6As.

PINETOWN Girl’s Dux, Lusanda Sikhakhane was the top student achieving seven As followed by Sandisiwe Mthalane with 6As.

Although the school dropped from the 2016 100 per cent pass rate, principal Sibongile Njapha said she commends the teachers, parents and the class of 2017 for their hard work. “We are very proud of them.”

Njapha said they did notice a drop on certain subjects and they will go back to see where they went wrong and aim to get back to their 100 per cent pass rate.

“We always advise our children to do subjects that they are comfortable with and have meetings with parents at the end of each term.

“Learners get a chance to change their subject choice in Grade 10 and Grade 11 to prevent them for failing. I believe wrong subject choices also contribute in the pass rate decrease,” she said.
