JOSHUA van Straaten was Pinetown Boys’ High School’s top student with 7As.
Joshua, who was the school’s Dux, passed with an aggregate of 91 per cent.
Kirsten Peters, runner-up Dux came second also with 7As and an aggregate of 86 per cent.
The third top student was Simiso Gwala who obtained 6As.
Principal of the school, Raysellan Naidoo, said he was proud of all the learners who did well.
“We are a bit disappointed about the drop in our pass rate, from 92 per cent to 89 per cent. We worked really hard and we will go back to the drawing board to see where it went wrong and hopefully this year our learners will work extra hard,” he said.
