ZAHRA Kara, a Grade 11 learner at Star College Girls’ High School, has impressed again with her nifty chess moves.
She participated in the African Youth Chess Championships hosted in Egypt during the December holidays.
Zahra played for the U16 girls’ team, representing South Africa and her school.
After a challenging and competitive tournament comprising nine matches, Zahra was placed second and received a silver medal from the Egyptian Chess Federation. She will also receive the title of “Woman’s Candidate Master” from the World Federation.
Star College Durban congratulated her on this tremendous achievement and wished her well in all future endeavours.
