Two killed in horrific New Germany accident

A man and woman were declared dead on scene after a police vehicle collided with a car in New Germany last night.

TWO people were killed in a horrific accident on Shepstone Road near Chelsea Avenue in New Germany last night, (Tuesday, 27 March).

Garrith Jamieson from Rescue Care Paramedics said a police vehicle and a car collided before the police vehicle overturned, coming to rest on its side.

“Two occupants from the vehicle, a male and a female were severely entrapped in the wreckage. They sustained major injuries and passed away due to the severity of their injuries.

“The policeman and two other occupants from the vehicle sustained moderate injuries and were stabilised on the scene by Advanced Life Support Paramedics before being transported to a nearby hospital,” said Jamieson.

Jamieson said it is unclear what caused the accident at this stage, but authorities will be investigating.
