Local DA councillors attend federal congress

Marlaine Nair said key policies were adopted at the meeting, including land redistribution and crime.

DEMOCRATIC Alliance West Durban Constituency chairman and deputy chair, councillors Tex Collins and Marlaine Nair, recently attended the DA’s Federal Congress in Tshwane.

The Federal Congress is the party’s highest decision making body and takes place every three years. Almost 2 000 delegates from across the country attended to vote in new leadership and decide on policy proposals.

“A number of key policies in areas of land redistribution, housing, crime and education were adopted at the congress,” said Nair.

“A lot of hard work may lay ahead, but the team at West Durban is committed to growing the party’s support in every corner of the constituency,” said Nair.
