Cyclist seriously injured in Pinetown collision

The cyclist sustained serious injuries and was placed on life support on scene and was later rushed to a nearby hospital.

A CYCLIST, believed to be in his late 30s, sustained serious injuries when a vehicle collided with him near the intersection of Preston and Old Main Road in Cowies Hill, Pinetown on Friday afternoon, 4 May.

Shortly after 4pm, paramedics from ER24 arrived on the scene where they found the man lying on the road.

“He had sustained serious injuries and was placed on life support on scene. He was later rushed to a nearby hospital for further medical care,” said ER24 spokesperson, Werner Vermaak.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident is not yet known. The driver of the vehicle was assessed on scene.
