Help bikers share warmth this winter

THE 2018 Blanket Drive, organised by Soldiers for Jesus Motorcycle Club and NPN Auto Centre, was recently launched and calls on people to donate blankets to the less fortunate.

The blankets will be donated to various charities in Pinetown, Peacevale and Durban, with a mass ride taking place on Sunday, 20 May from Southway Mall to NPN Auto Centre.

The ‘Share the Love, Share the Warmth’ campaign was started in Johannesburg five years ago and has now become a national annual event as Cape Town and Durban have also come on board.

Organiser, Carl Prinsloo from Soldiers for Jesus Motorcycle Club, said the aim of the drive was to spread warmth among the homeless this winter.

“These blankets will be donated to The Ark KZN, Pinetown Street Ministry, and His Hands Ministry,” said Prinsloo.

Owner of NPN Auto Centre, Tim Creek, said they are so happy to be part of this wonderful drive that will keep the less fortunate warm this winter.

“As a business that services the local community it is important to us that we give back, and this Blanket Drive is one of the many initiatives that we support,” he said.

As part of the drive, NPN Auto Centre is sponsoring a free cup of coffee to those who drop off blankets. People can drop off any new or preloved blankets at NPN Auto Centre, 12 – 14 St Johns Avenue, Pinetown.
