Two people left critically injured in M7 accident

The Durban Fire Department had to use the Jaws of Life to free the driver.

TWO people were critically injured when a car overturned on the M7 near Hans Dettman Highway last night, (Friday, 11 May).

Garrith Jamieson from Rescue Care Paramedics said paramedics found the vehicle on its roof on the Pinetown bound carriageway at about 6pm.

“The driver was entrapped in the wreckage and the Durban Fire Department had to use the Jaws of Life to cut him free.

“The driver and one passenger sustained critical injuries and were both placed on a manual ventilator on the scene before being rushed to nearby hospitals,” said Jamieson.

Two other passengers sustained moderate injuries and were also stabilised on the scene.
