KLOOF Senior Primary School’s SPAR Star of the Month is Grade 5 learner, Gabbi Herbst.
The 11-year-old was one of the competitors in the Billabong Ballito Pro in June where she was selected as one of the finalists.
Gabi said for the finals the conditions were tough, but when it came to the prize-giving, she was delighted as she won the Billabong Ballito Pro U12 category. Gabbi won a few prizes including a large cheque prize of R1 200.
She said the event was lots of fun and would like to thank her sponsors O’Neill, Maish Fins and Mayhem Boards for supporting her as well as her dad, Antonie, for giving her advice on her surfing throughout the years.
