VIDEO: Arrests made at UKZN Westville strike

The Westville campuses academic programme has been suspended for Monday, 13 August.

THREE students have been arrested following violent protests at the UKZN Westville campus this morning.

According to the acting executive director of corporate relations at UKZN, Normah Zondo, the academic programme, including all tests, has been suspended on the Westville campus for today, 13 August only.

“The suspension will allow university management to engage with student leadership and find amicable solutions,” said Zondo.

She emphasised the academic programme suspension was for the Westville campus only and classes would resume on Tuesday, 14 August.

The Westville Campus did not confirm the motive behind the protest at the time of publication.
