Can’t see the forest for the trees, attend course
Join botanist and author, Prof Eugene Moll for a one-day tree identification and forest ecology course.
RENOWNED botanist and author, Prof Eugene Moll, is visiting Durban during September and will be presenting a talk and two, one-day tree identification courses. Prof Moll will teach in an easy-to-understand, interactive way, tree identification skills as well as the dynamics of our local forests.
Monday, 17 September, 5.30pm for 6pm: Durban Botanic Gardens Visitors Centre, John Zikhali Rd (formerly Sydenham Rd): Talk by Prof Eugene Moll, A Greater Maputaland Transfrontier Park – what could this mean for KZN?
Prof Eugene Moll uses the experience he has gained in the Kosi Bay area since 1965 to discuss regional conservation priorities. Prof Moll envisions the area east and west of Tembe Elephant Park combining with the recently formed Maputo Special Reserve to form a Greater Maputaland Transfrontier Park. What would this mean for KZN?
Entrance, including teas, is R30 for BotSoc members, R50 for non-members and R20 for students. No need to book.
One-day tree identification and forest ecology course. Numbers are limited. Bring your own lunches and teas. Cost: R250 for BotSoc members, R300 for non-members, payable in advance.
Tuesday 18 September, 9am to 3pm: Burman Bush Nature Reserve, Morningside.Wednesday 19 September, 9am to 3pm: Hawaan Forest, Umhlanga.
