Police briefs: Pinetown SAPS women on the ball

During their operation, they responded to a house-breaking complaint at a spice shop in New Germany.

As part of its Women’s Month activities, the detectives from Pinetown SAPS conducted an operation dubbed ‘effective detective’.

“These women left their offices to work in the Crime Office at the station taking calls from the general public, helping to write, sign and stamp affidavits and taking statements.

“During their operation, they responded to a house-breaking complaint at a spice shop in New Germany where a laptop and a desktop computer were stolen by robbers. They also responded to an assault complaint in Nazareth.

“They searched for the perpetrator who had fled the area by the time they got to his house. Investigations continue on both cases,” said Pinetown Cluster communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele.

Police seek relatives

Pinetown police are looking for the relatives of a man, estimated to be in his 30s, found dead near the M13 Highway. He was wearing a black jersey and blue denim jeans. A plastic bag with a Wi-Fi router and a cable was found next to him.

His facial features could not be identified due to decomposition of his face.

Pinetown police are also looking for the relatives of a man who was found dead in Lahee Park on Thursday, 30 August at about 5.45pm.

He was wearing black pants, a brown striped shirt and was barefoot. The man is estimated to be about 71 years old.
