Man killed in Kloof accident

One of the passengers, a man in his 50s, was critically injured and passed away in hospital.

ONE passenger was killed and five others injured when a driver lost control of the vehicle he was driving on the M13 Durban bound near Village Road in Kloof last night (Sunday, 13 January).

Operations director at Rescue Care Paramedics, Garrith Jamieson said when paramedics arrived on scene, they found the badly damaged vehicle in the left lane.

“Multiple people had been injured and more ambulances were dispatched immediately as well as Advanced Life Support Paramedics to assist. One passenger, a man in his 50s, sustained critical injuries and Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked to stabilise him on the scene before transporting him to a nearby hospital. A short while after arrival, the man went into a state of cardiac arrest and died due to the severity of his injuries,” explained Jamieson.

Five other occupants sustained moderate injuries and were also stabilised on the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital.
