Tristan leads by example

Forest View Primary School's SPAR Star of the Month - March 2019.

TRISTAN Montile is a learner at Forest View Primary School (FVPS) and has been selected as its SPAR Star of the Month.

Tristan is in Grade 7 and has been part of the FVPS family since Grade R.

He has always been involved in every opportunity offered to him during his school career and this positive attitude has flourished in the first term of his Grade 7 year.

Tristan was selected as the 1st team cricket captain for 2019.

He has led the team by example and has contributed on the field, with bat and ball.

Under his leadership, the team won four of the six matches played so far. His coach, Michael Mendonidis, complimented him on how he has applied himself to the leadership role.

Tristan was also selected as the swimming house captain for Duiker House and competed in all strokes and races at interhouse, interschool and Durban and Districts levels.

He has volunteered his time for many school functions this year, and formed part of the catering team, helped as a parking assistant and also greeted visitors with his lovely manners.

Tristan has not lost sight of his goals in the classroom either during this busy time and his class teacher, Hilda Coombe, said he has applied himself to every subject.

“I also teach Tristan Afrikaans and computers, as well as a new subject for Grade 7 level, Technology. He has done exceptionally well this term in achieving his goals in the classroom,” said Hilda.
