Breaking ground for Westville school upgrade

The classroom zones will be changed to make our school more inclusive. The school will also open short-term remedial classes in 2020 and applications are already open for Grade 1 and Grade 2.

THE School Governing Body and Project Steering Committee at Westville Junior Primary proudly announced the start of the Project 2020 upgrade of the school campus.

Principal, Dot De Vries said, “After several years of collaborative engagement with all the stakeholders, we have just begun to upgrade our playground/sport facilities, with artificial grass, new seating pavilions, cricket nets and additional play space. “Following that will be the upgrade of our Grade R house, the aftercare, tuck shop facilities and the hall,”” De Vries said.

“The classroom zones will be changed to make our school more inclusive. The school will also open short-term remedial classes in 2020 and applications are already open for Grade 1 and Grade 2. “We believe that these changes will positively benefit our school community, right in the heart of Westville.

We see a high correlation between sport, cultural and academic achievement and our children develop strong learning foundations before they move on to Westville Senior Primary School.

We plan to have much of the campus upgrade completed before our school celebrates its 60th birthday in January 2020.”
