Religious groups break bread at Iftar dinner

Since its establishment, Turquoise Harmony Institute has pursued the goal of strengthening dialogue and tolerance among people who come from different backgrounds.

THE Turquoise Harmony Institute hosted the Iftar Dinner at Star College on Saturday, 18 May.

The event is one of the ways the organisation aims to foster dialogue in the community.

Since its establishment, Turquoise Harmony Institute has pursued the goal of strengthening dialogue and tolerance among people who come from different backgrounds.

They strongly believe that the future of humanity should be built on a culture of coexistence, dialogue and tolerance.

Special mention and thanks goes to deputy mayor, Fawzia Peer for speaking at the function along with regional director, Mehmet Naci Kaya from THI, Cardinal Napier from the Catholic Church, Dr Raj Govender from the KZN Dept of Arts and Culture who spoke on Hinduism and Sister Agnes from the Mariannhill Monastery offered the closing prayer on peace and tolerance.
