Safety first for SARDA

Through a recent fund-raiser, the NPO raised enough funds to purchase nine safety riding hats for its little riders. You can help boost its collection by making a donation.

DOZENS of supporters made their way to the South African Riding for the Disabled Association’s (SARDA) recent High Tea and Hay Bale event where R12 000 was raised.

The funds were used to buy new safety riding hats for the children.

As a first for the NPO, the event was hosted on its grounds and was proudly supported by a team of dedicated volunteers, Richdens SPAR, the talented Belinda Henwood, Stephanie Moss and Dischem. To add a cherry onto the cake, the weather was stunning.

“Belinda Henwood came in a character to give the protocols of high tea and she was hilarious. Dischem donated a prize to raffle and gifts for goodie bags, Stephanie Moss, a life coach, hosted a talk filled with thought provoking topics,” said event organisers and long-term volunteers, Michelle Foonk and Mary Nel.

At Sarda’s High Tea and Hay Bale fund-raiser are Stephanie Moss, Michelle Foonk, Tracey Cumming and Mary Nel with Belinda Henwood.

A portion of the funds raised was used to purchase nine safety riding hats, which retail for R1 000 a piece. The balance will be used to feed the ponies.

“The new hats have been part-sponsored by Natal Saddlery. However, more hats are required, but this is a wonderful start to our new hat project,” said Mary.
