New PR councillor aims to create equality
Billy has been the party's ancillary organisation coordinator since 2016 until he accepted his new post. He believes that the biggest job for a PR councillor is to be accessible.
COUNCILLOR Mzamo Billy is the new Democratic Alliance PR councillor for wards 12, 14 and 16.
His appointment came about when his predecessor, Lucky Mshengu resigned and he was elected to replace him in December 2019.

Billy has been deployed to oversee, KwaNdengezi, Luganda, Nagina, Dassenhoek, Caversham Glen, Ashley, Oaklands and Nazareth.
He has been with the DA for 10 years. He started as a student activist when he was the chairperson of DASO at UKZN. Billy studied political science and international relations at UKZN.
“I worked at the DA head office in Cape Town in 2015 as a data quality officer in the information system, later that year I came back to KZN and was appointed as caucus support officer,” he said.
Billy has been the party’s ancillary organisation coordinator since 2016 until he accepted his new post. He believes that the biggest job for a PR councillor is to be accessible.
“I grew up in most of the wards and I’m familiar with the struggles of the people. These areas are under developed and I aim to bring fairness in service delivery especially in employment,” he said.
