Nobantu Xhonywa said they were grateful for the opportunity they were given by GreenAble and their employer, Pailpac which has welcomed them with open arms.

“It is hard for people with disabilities to find a job and we have never worked before. We did the learnership for four years where we learnt a lot about the working environment and about recycling.

“What we liked most about the learnership is that they do not have an age restriction, everyone who is fit to work is given a fair chance.”

Marketing Intern at GreenAble, Tachiana Atkins, said the job creation, education and skills upliftment which they provide are made possible through their sponsor and partnership network.

“All beneficiaries attend learnerships during their employment with GreenAble with the vision of reaching a matric equivalent and work-readiness skills set. All beneficiaries are awarded with sponsored learnerships.”

She said one of their many sponsors, gave opportunities to nine beneficiaries and recently committed to permanently employing four learners into their business, who started in January.

The company hosts people with 15 different disabilities which includes amputees, polio, congenital deformity and dwarfism.

There are numerous exciting opportunities for you to donate and partner with GreenAble such as, economy (employment equity) employment of a disabled unemployed individual; social (skills development) sponsor a learnership, spend on training; and environment (CSI – SED spend) donation of your time and cash donations.
