The food donated will feed about 600 people for a week.
This is the third outreach project Hearts in Hands have undertaken in the local Upper Highway community and to date, have reached nearly 300 families that are in dire need of support due to lockdown restrictions.
The NPO is serving in an area where there are about 20 000 families in need of support. Relying solely on donations from the public, the foodbank has also endeavoured to support local farmers from Baystone Farm and William Mapston Trust in the purchase of fresh vegetables to accompany the non-perishable food items.
The farmers also generously supplied and delivered the produce at no cost. If you would like to show your support to the NPO, email enquiries@heartsinhands.co.za.
