Pinetown knitters share purls of wonder
The group of avid knitters at Pinehaven Society in Pinetown have asked the community to donate much-needed wool to continue their work.
PINEHAVEN Society’s residents have outdone themselves as they have knitted a donation that contains hundreds of beanies, scarves, blankets, jerseys, booties and even teddy bears for those less fortunate.
The donations will be handed to the Rotary Club of Pinetown and will be distributed among its outreach channels in the community as well as to Project Rhino and The Mission to Seafarers.
Each of the women said the scarves and beanies were the quickest to knit and they were only too glad to be able to help others in need.

The group members gather each day and said they felt fortunate that the Rotary Club donated the wool needed to create the items. Where they can, the avid group of knitters also purchases their own wool.
To support their work, you can donate completed knitted garments or double knitting wool, of any colour, at the Pinehaven Society’s main office, 14 Meller Road in Pinetown. Contact 031 701 7561.
