ALL communities serviced by the Hillcrest police station are advised the station has been temporarily closed due to one of its members, at the Hillcrest Community Service Centre, testing positive for Covid-19 yesterday, (Monday, 11 January).

This is the second time this year the station had to close due to a staff member testing positive for Covid-19.

On Sunday, 3 January, the station was closed and reopened on Tuesday, 5 January after it was decontaminated.

Hillcrest SAPS communications officer, Capt Linzi Smith said the community service centre will now operate from Molweni Satellite Station which is not far from the police station.

To access the station, the community can call 10111 for all emergencies and complaints which will be attended to accordingly.

“The telephone lines at Hillcrest police station’s Community Service Centre will not be accessible for the duration of the closure. However, service delivery will not be hampered,” assured Smith.

She said it was not confirmed when the building will be decontaminated and when services will resume at the station.

“The SAPS management apologises for any inconvenience that may arise from this,” added Smith.
