Sentencing of husband who murdered his wife set for October
The sentence proceedings for Lwanda Mxolisi Zungu, who was convicted for murdering his wife Tania Msane Zungu, were adjourned to October 2.
THE proceedings for the sentencing of Lwanda Mxolisi Zungu, who was convicted for the murder of his wife, Tania Msane Zungu, were adjourned to October 2 at the Pinetown Regional Court on Friday, August 28.
The presiding officer, Magistrate Muntu Khumalo, said the proceedings were adjourned because the State prosecutor is indisposed and the matter has been taken over by their colleague who has to prepare for arguments.
In July, Khumalo found Zungu guilty for the 2024 murder of his wife, and said his version, that the gun was fired while he and Tania struggled over the weapon, was false.

Handing down the judgment, Khumalo said Zungu was discharged of a second count leveled against him, for allegedly pointing a firearm at his son, who was 15 years old at the time of the murder, because the State had not led any evidence on this accusation.
Tania’s mother, Patience Msane, has said that she hopes for a harsh sentence to be handed down to Zungu.
