WATCH: Strangers celebrate Pinetown couple’s wedded bliss during garage pitstop

In just a few minutes, two women were able to whip up a crowd to celebrate the newlyweds during a quick stop off at a garage.

IT was a scene of jubilation and celebration at a popular garage station when a group of strangers sang and danced with two newlyweds from Pinetown recently.

The video, which has been shared far and wide on social media, shows a group of people holding the train of the bride as she makes her way back to her vehicle, while singing and dancing, as cars and taxis hoot in the background.

A link to the video is also available here.

Headed to Ballito, on the way from Blythedale, Courtney Merle had her bridal party make a pitstop to use the loo.

“I needed the bathroom. I am being so honest,” she laughed. “I was with my groomsmen and bridesmaids and we were on our way to a house near Ballito where we were all going to stay for the evening.”

Two women in the bathroom asked her if she had just tied the knot and, when she said ‘yes’, they erupted in song.

It was only when she exited the bathroom did she realise that those same two women had notified almost everyone at the petrol station of her union with husband, Haydn.

“The taxis had lined up and started hooting, people were dancing and singing and a few people were holding onto my train as I made my way back to the car. It was so awesome! I want to thank them for ending off the evening with such a joyful celebration and creating such a nice way for us to enter into our marriage,” said Merle.
