Copper thief strikes again in Malvern, arrested

The 30-year-old man was out on bail for a similar case.

A MAN was arrested after he was found in the possession of stolen copper worth R15 129 recently.

During one of its operations, the Rapid Rail Police Unit held a search of a vehicle that was filled with metal in Malvern.

During the search, the team found five sacks of copper cables that were identified as property of the eThekwini Municipality.

The 30-year-old man was arrested for the possession of stolen property.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the same man is currently out on bail for a similar case that was committed in Mariannhill in April this year.
