AS load-shedding returns, just weeks ahead of the festive period, a TikTok video is getting renewed attention. In the video, an unnamed worker highlights the ‘unsafe’ process of implementing load-shedding in the Rustenburg Municipality.

The post has racked up 123 000 likes, 11 000 shares and more than 5 420 comments since it was shared in September, with some TikTokers joking that he is the ‘culprit’ for leaving them in the dark when load-shedding starts. Other social media users were shocked to discover that the process is not automated.
