#IEBmatricresults2023: St Mary’s celebrates 100% pass rate

St Mary’s DSG’s principal congratulates the Matric Class of 2023 for achieving notable results with 100% pass rate and 279 distinctions.

ST MARY’S DSG Kloof is among many other schools that are celebrating their IEB Class of 2023 matric results. Obtaining a pass rate of 100%, the school’s principal, Jonathan Manley, said they are very pleased with the spread and the consistency that is apparent in their results.

The St Mary’s Matric Class of 2023 achieved 279 distinctions between them, resulting in an average of 3.1 distinctions per student. They have also achieved 22 instances in the Top 1% in their subjects which is a superb achievement. Their top two students were Amy Lamplough and Camryn Smart who both achieved an over 90% aggregate. A total of 13 girls achieved academic excellence with aggregates of over 85%.

“Our congratulations go to Feyah Harel who achieved in the Top 5% in six of her subjects, as well as placing in the Top 1% for Mathematical Literacy. Congratulations also go to Camryn Smart, Amy Lamplough, Jayde Gray and Nikeeta Bhagwan who were placed in the Top 1% in more than one subject.

“The depth of the achievements of this cohort is worth noting. Of all their results, 75% were either an A or B symbol, and only 18 subject results out of 631 were below 50%. Our average for individual subjects was above the national average by 8% overall. In some cases, subjects were above the national average by 13% and 14%,” stated Manley.

Manley further stated that their hard work and the support and encouragement from parents and teachers over the years have culminated in this excellent set of results.
