#NSCmatricresults: Hillcrest High School celebrates outstanding matric results

Hillcrest High School celebrates the success of the class of 2024.

HILLCREST High School (HHS) proudly celebrated its 2024 National Senior Certificate (NSC) exam results with a 97% pass rate. Out of the Grade 12 class of 2024, 156 learners earned bachelor’s passes, 42 achieved diploma passes, and 12 secured higher certificate passes.

The school collectively achieved 195 distinctions, with top achiever Annika Adendorff securing eight distinctions.

School principal Denise Knight commended the learners for their resilience and dedication amid numerous challenges.

“Well done to our Grade 12 Class of 2024. Despite facing obstacles such as Covid-19, riots, floods, load-shedding, and water outages, you persevered. We hope you are all proud of your achievements in the NSC examinations. The Class of 2024 secured 195 distinctions, with one learner achieving eight distinctions, two learners earning seven distinctions, four obtaining five distinctions, and six achieving four distinctions,” Knight said.

Adendorff excelled with distinctions in physical science, mathematics, life sciences, accounting, English, Afrikaans First Additional Language, life orientation, and German Second Additional Language. Reflecting on her success, Adendorff attributed her results to consistent effort.

“I listened during class and did my homework. That made it easier when it was time to prepare for exams or tests,” she shared. Adendorff plans to study chemistry and physics at Potchefstroom University.

Two other learners, Kiarra Chetty and Abigail King, also achieved remarkable results with seven distinctions each. Chetty excelled in subjects including physical science, mathematics, and history, and plans to pursue medicine. King earned top marks in life science, history, tourism, and visual arts, among others.

  • Leiah Kennedy
  • Thandolwami Makhanya
  • Fanelesibonge Mngadi, and
    • Morgan Walker

     

  • Learners who achieved four As were:
    • Tayla Davies
    • Sinothando Dlamini
    • Jessica Graham
    • Sphile Kubone
    • Chelsea Robertson
    • Kaelyn Stainer.
