#2024NSCmatricresults: Westville Girls’ learner in the top 10 in KZN

The school retained its unbroken record of a 100% pass rate since 1991 and learners collectively attained 478 subject distinctions.

WESTVILLE Girls’ High School learner, Mari Relling, was placed ninth among the province’s top learners who gathered at the Durban ICC to celebrate the Class of 2024 National Senior Certificate (NSC) results.

KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Class of 2024 obtained a pass rate of 89.5%, marking an increase of 3.2% from 2023.

The school once again achieved a 100% pass rate, an unbroken record since 1991. Mari received distinctions for history, physics, biology, English, Afrikaans and life orientation.

Principal Russel Untiedt said the school is delighted with the NSC results of the Matric Class of 2024.

Mari Relling, our top performer, achieved ninth position in KZN and an aggregate of 92.87%.

“The school has retained its unbroken record of a 100% pass rate since 1991 and we are proud of our bachelor’s pass rate of 92.52%.”

He said two learners achieved eight distinctions, 10 learners achieved seven distinctions and seven learners achieved six distinctions.

“Twenty-five percent of the learners achieved four distinctions or more and we congratulate all the learners who managed to collectively attain 478 subject distinctions (an average of 2.23 distinctions per learner) and who surpassed all expectations in their pursuit of excellence.

“Well done to you all – your determination has paid dividends and we celebrate you and your amazing achievement,” said the proud principal.
