New Toastmasters Club launching in Hillcrest

Toastmasters International is happy to launch a new community in Hillcrest.

HILLCREST residents looking to improve their confidence, public speaking, and leadership abilities will soon have a new opportunity with the launch of a Saturday breakfast club by Toastmasters International. The inaugural meeting of the “Toast and Talk Toastmasters” club is set for Saturday, February 8, at Platzz on 40 Old Main Road, Hillcrest.

Toastmasters International is a globally recognised non-profit organisation focused on personal and professional development through the enhancement of communication and leadership skills. With a network of over 14 000 clubs in 150 countries, the organisation provides a supportive environment where members can improve their public speaking and leadership abilities.

“In these clubs, members participate in activities such as preparing and delivering speeches, handling impromptu questions, and providing constructive feedback. This practical approach helps individuals build confidence and achieve their personal and professional goals.

“Founded in 1924 and headquartered in Englewood, Colorado, Toastmasters International serves approximately 270 000 members worldwide. The launch of the Toast and Talk Toastmasters club in Hillcrest will further extend this mission, offering a new platform for local residents to develop their communication skills,” said Gil Harper of the organisation.

The launch event, featuring a breakfast meeting, will take place from 9:00 to 11:00 on February 8. It promises to be an informative session for those interested in learning more about Toastmasters.
