CCTV footage to be used in business robbery investigation
Police say four suspects who had been travelling in a white VW Polo allegedly assaulted a security guard during the robbery.
THE police in Pinetown will make use of CCTV footage to investigate a business robbery that occurred in New Germany in the early hours of Wednesday (May 21).
Pinetown SAPS communications officer Jennifer Naidu said the police urges anyone with information that may assist in the investigation to contact the police station or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
“It is alleged that a security officer was on duty at a business premises on Henwood Road, New Germany, when four unknown suspects arrived at the premises in a White VW Polo.
“The suspects allegedly tampered with a Nissan NP200 vehicle parked on the property. When the complainant approached the suspects, two of them allegedly produced firearms and threatened him.

“The complainant was allegedly assaulted and forced to lie on the ground. The suspects subsequently managed to start the Nissan NP200 and allegedly forced the complainant into the vehicle before driving off.
“The complainant was later dropped off in the New Germany area along Dumisani Makhaye Highway. His cellphone was returned to him,” said Naidu.
Naidu added that a case of business robbery has been registered at the Pinetown SAPS and that the police have not made any arrests, while investigations are ongoing.
