Ten injured in Pinetown taxi accident

The patients were transported to hospital after sustaining injuries ranging from moderate to serious.

TEN people were injured in an accident on the M19 near Otto Volek Road in Pinetown on Tuesday morning.

ALS Paramedics Medical Services spokesperson said paramedics arrived on the scene to find that a taxi had overturned multiple times, coming to rest on its side after the driver lost control.

“Paramedics quickly assessed the scene, and immediately, more ambulances, as well as Advanced Life Support Paramedics, were dispatched to the scene.

“A total of ten people sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious and were stabilised on the scene before being transported to various Durban hospitals,” said Jamieson.

It was unclear what caused the accident, however, SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating.
