Empowering women through self-expression
Local businesswomen gathered to inspire each other and raise funds.

A WESTVILLE organisation launched a women’s series of empowerment aimed for women to explore their creativity and imagination. The Tiny Steps Care team invited local businesswomen to share their stories while networking.
The non-profit organisation (NPO) works to promote holistic wellness and personal growth with a focus on empowering women through transformative experiences. The team seeks to create a safe and inclusive space for individuals to express themselves through various artistic forms.

Launching one of their empowerment series on Thursday, July 13, local businesswomen gathered to sip and paint while expressing themselves through art.
Explaining the initiative, founder Naadia Sheik Hameed said, “The Sip and Paint initiative stands out by integrating a holistic-wellness approach and embracing the power of artistic expression.
“I believe that artistic expression is an often overlooked realm that holds tremendous benefits, providing a safe haven where women can freely unleash their creativity, imagination and emotions.”
This served a dual purpose as the Tiny Steps Care Team NPO is actively raising funds for two soup kitchens in Overport and Sydenham as well as two orphanages in Westville and Crestholme.
In addition, the organisation plans to extend its support to the animal rescue, Welbedacth-South, providing much-needed pet food for cats and dogs, thereby alleviating their plight.

“To ensure the success of this compassionate endeavour, Tiny Steps Care Team NPO invites Westville businesses and the civil society at large to join hands in supporting and distributing the contributions. We encourage interested parties to reach out via our social media handles or contact the centre directly to inquire about drop-off points. The deadline for distribution is July 25, 2023.”
The Tiny Steps Care Team NPO extends its heartfelt gratitude to all the women who attended the event and local businesses who helped make the Sip and Paint event a resounding success.
“The overwhelming response and enthusiasm from the attendees have fueled their determination to continue organising such transformative events. We eagerly look forward to unveiling their upcoming event in August, promising another unforgettable experience.”
