Family car crashes into sinkhole

Motorists are advised to avoid the intersection of Main Road and Ridley Park Road in Malvern as emergency services have attended to four incidents there already.

A FAMILY of four has been injured after their car crashed into a sinkhole on the intersection of Main Road and Ridley Park Road in Malvern.

ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson reported that they arrived on the scene to find local towing operators rescuing the family of four out of the water as the vehicle was submerged in the sinkhole.

“Paramedics assessed and found that four occupants – two children and two adults – had sustained minor to moderate injuries as a result of the crash. They were treated on scene before being sent to hospital,” he said.

He further warned motorists to avoid the road as they have already attended to four incidents caused by the sinkhole.
