Local author launches inspirational poetry book

Kloof resident and author Celia Wright's new book, Soul Reflections, takes readers on a deeply personal and spiritual journey through inspirational poetry and stunning illustrations.

KLOOF resident and author, Celia Wright, has launched a new book of inspirational poetry, Soul Reflections, which reflects on the wonder of God through the lens of creation.

Launched at Olive Tree Church in Kloof on Saturday, November 30, the book is a deeply personal expression of faith and features 36 pages of poetry, accompanied by Scripture and illustrations.

According to Wright, the book is the culmination of a lifelong passion for writing poetry, which began at the age of 15. “Moving to the Upper Highway area from Port Shepstone in 1989 marked the beginning of a profound spiritual and creative journey for me,” she said.

Research into Wright’s family tree revealed a surprising connection to the first recorded Christian poet in South Africa, Hester Venter. “Her lineage as a poet and believer resonates in my book, which I hope will inspire readers to pause, reflect and connect with God in their daily lives,” said Wright.

The book launch was a celebration featuring an acoustic performance by local musician Tanner Wareham, who brought the lyrics of Soul Reflections to life in song. European and World Dance Champion Kevin Ellis also performed.

The book also includes QR codes linked to Tanner’s audio tracks and Wright’s video reflections, available on platforms such as Spotify and YouTube.

The book is now available, and Wright hopes it will inspire readers to connect with God and appreciate the beauty of creation. For more information on the book, Celia Wright can be contacted on 082 636 5499.
