Upper Highway NPO gives to the elderly

Pre-loved clothing and linen were donated to Hearts in Hands NPO and given to the elderly at Elders Voice KZN.

ANSWERING an appeal by the Hearts in Hands NPO for pre-loved clothing for their Share&Care programme, the team from Just Property Upper Highway rallied their branch in Umhlanga, and together with their staff and clients they handed over a bakkie-load of pre-loved clothing and linen for the elderly.

The items were donated to The Elders Voice KZN, a community upliftment initiative in Durban that provides hope and dignity to the elderly.

Founder of Hearts in Hands, Tracy Klokie, said they were blown away by the incredible support from Just Property.

“They asked us to collect ‘some donations’ but to our amazement, we were greeted on collection with their boardroom full of bags and boxes!

“Thank you all so much for your beautiful community spirit! What a blessing for the forgotten elderly at Elders Voice,” she said.

Sanelisiwe Tsinde

My name is Sanelisiwe Tsinde, and I'm a mother of two boys and very family-oriented. Being a community journalist for years, I can proudly say I love writing about positive community news articles and giving a voice to the voiceless. Seeing people getting assistance warms my heart. Every day is a different challenge and a new learning opportunity. I supply news for our trusted publication weekly, and a few years ago, Caxton ventured into online publication, so I contribute daily to the websites. I could say I am a multimedia journalist, and working in a community newspaper is beneficial as we do not focus on one thing but we do a bit of everything.
