Make a splash at local pools

With Durban still experiencing the warm weather, families can go and cool off at their nearest swimming pools.

WESTVILLE Swimming Pool was once again a favourite for many Durbanites who flocked there with their families to cool off and enjoy the holidays.

In December, City officials said they were expecting an influx of more than a million visitors over the festive season who would most likely look to enjoy Durban’s golden-sand beaches and other swimming facilities that the municipality has on offer.

The swimming pools were announced as an alternative to the beaches.

Mayor Cyril Xaba said the primary aim of the municipality’s swimming pools is to provide and maintain a safe aquatic environment for recreational and competitive activities.

He also announced that 30 out of over 50 municipal swimming pools are open in various parts of the city for the public to enjoy.

My name is Sanelisiwe Tsinde, and I'm a mother of two boys and very family-oriented. Being a community journalist for years, I can proudly say I love writing about positive community news articles and giving a voice to the voiceless. Seeing people getting assistance warms my heart. Every day is a different challenge and a new learning opportunity. I supply news for our trusted publication weekly, and a few years ago, Caxton ventured into online publication, so I contribute daily to the websites. I could say I am a multimedia journalist, and working in a community newspaper is beneficial as we do not focus on one thing but we do a bit of everything.
