Star College learner to shine on Spanish soil

In a remarkable display of talent and determination, Ezra Naicker, an 8-year-old prodigy from Star College, has earned his place among the elite junior football players in the country.

EIGHT-YEAR-OLD Ezra Naicker is one of 25 players in the under-9 age group who will participate in an international tournament in Barcelona, Spain, later this year.

Ezra will travel with his club, Dragons Soccer Club, to play against players from all over the world in the Surf Cup International.

The young champ’s skills have earned him multiple most valuable player awards across various tournaments, and also the respect and admiration of coaches, teammates, and competitors alike.

“His hard work and determination have paid off, and we believe he has a bright future ahead. We are all supporting him in this exciting journey, and we can’t wait to see him shine on Spanish soil.”

Kayya added that Ezra’s achievement serves as an inspiring example for his peers and young athletes everywhere.

“It’s an honour to represent my school and my country,” said a shy Ezra as he expressed his excitement.

“I’ve been working hard, and I can’t wait to show everyone what I can do in Spain!”

My name is Sanelisiwe Tsinde, and I'm a mother of two boys and very family-oriented. Being a community journalist for years, I can proudly say I love writing about positive community news articles and giving a voice to the voiceless. Seeing people getting assistance warms my heart. Every day is a different challenge and a new learning opportunity. I supply news for our trusted publication weekly, and a few years ago, Caxton ventured into online publication, so I contribute daily to the websites. I could say I am a multimedia journalist, and working in a community newspaper is beneficial as we do not focus on one thing but we do a bit of everything.
