Watercrest Mall beef up security after armed robbery

The mall management reported that no one was injured when armed men stormed a jewellery store.

WATERCREST Mall has released a statement assuring shoppers that the stores are operating and additional security measures have been implemented following an armed robbery earlier today (Wednesday, April 2).

In the statement, the mall management confirmed that a robbery occurred inside a jewellery store at approximately 11:09.

“We are relieved to report that no injuries were sustained by customers, staff or security personnel and that there were no shots fired.”

The management thanked the swift and professional response of their security team.

“The situation was quickly and effectively contained. Our priority has always been, and remains, the safety and well-being of everyone who visits and works at Watercrest Mall. The centre has been thoroughly secured, and operations resumed smoothly following the incident.”

In addition, the statement read that the management is working closely with law enforcement to support their investigation, and additional security measures have been implemented to ensure continued safety.

“Watercrest Mall would like to reassure our customers that their security remains our top priority. Together with our tenants, we are committed to maintaining the high standards of security you’ve come to expect from us.”
