One suspect sought following fatal shoot-out in Mariannhill

Police say the suspects were wanted for various crimes including cash-in-transit robberies.

THE police are searching for one suspect who evaded arrest following a fatal shoot-out in Mariannhill last week.

KZN SAPS spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said following the shoot-out on May 30 between suspects and the police, inquest dockets have been registered for investigation at the Mariannhill police station.

Two suspects were shot and fatally wounded during the shoot-out at the Sunshine area in Mariannhill.

“The suspects were wanted for various crimes including cash-in-transit robberies and when they spotted the police, they opened fire towards the police who retaliated and fatally wounded two suspects,” said Netshiunda.
