WATCH: Illegal firearms, stolen goods and drugs targeted at Operation Basadi

Members from various SAPS stations, including Pinetown, Westville, KwaDabeka, Hillcrest, Inchanga, Hammarsdale, Mpumalanga, and Msunduzi, joined forces with their Durban Metro Police and RTI counterparts, as well as those from CPFs, at the roadblock.

THE women-led roadblock at Mariannhill Toll Plaza on Friday, August 8, targeted illegal firearms, stolen goods, drugs, driving under the influence of alcohol, traffic violations and the roadworthiness of vehicles, among other violations.

Members from various SAPS stations, including Pinetown, Westville, KwaDabeka, Hillcrest, Inchanga, Hammarsdale, Mpumalanga, and Msunduzi, joined forces with their Durban Metro Police and RTI counterparts, as well as those from CPFs, at the roadblock.

The operation was led by Colonel Sharon Zamantungwa Sihlangu, the Westville SAPS station commander, who briefed members ahead of a parade that preceded the roadblock.
