Lawyer arrested at Pinetown court
A reliable source says it is alleged that the lawyer was arrested on a charge of being in possession of a dangerous substance.
A LEGAL eagle had his wings clipped last week when he was arrested at the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court for allegedly being in possession of marijuana.
KZN SAPS spokesperson Colonel Paul Magwaza confirmed the arrest of the 47-year-old suspect for possession of drugs and drug smuggling.

“He appeared in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on 14 August 2025 and the case was remanded to 29 September 2025. Reports indicate that on 13 August 2025, the suspect was caught with the bags of dagga and was placed under arrest,” said Magwaza.
The court’s manager has also been asked whether the lawyer was searched on the day before entering the court precinct and whether there is CCTV footage which will be handed over to the SAPS to assist in their investigations, because it is alleged that the lawyer was smuggling the substance to detainees.
