CIT heist suspects killed in shoot-out with police

Suspects linked to a cash-in-transit heist in Ndwedwe were killed by police.

THE Hawks have confirmed that two suspects who were sought for a cash-in-transit (CIT) heist were fatally gunned on Tuesday morning, October 14, during a shoot-out with police at Waterfall.

KZN Hawks spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Simphiwe Mhlongo said the suspects were wanted for a cash-in-transit heist in Ndwedwe in August.

“It is alleged that the same suspects were planning to do another cash-in-transit heist,” said Mhlongo.

He added that police found two unlicensed firearms and six blasting cartridges at the scene.
