The Durban Highway Lifestyle Market is hosting a Christmas market on December 6 and 7 from 10:00 to 15:00! It's going to be a fun-filled event where you can shop for unique Christmas gifts and support local vendors.

THE next Durban Highway Lifestyle Market is coming up on December 6 and 7 from 10:00 to 15:00, and it’s going to be a Christmas market!

Everyone is invited to join the fun, shop up a storm and get special Christmas gifts for their loved ones.

The market was started by a Kloof resident on February 24 last year and has successfully evolved into a fully-fledged monthly Lifestyle Market with local flavour.

Founder of the market, Sanja Hanekom, said the market was sparked by the passion of upcycling and to not let anything go to waste.

“It was held at the Kloof Scouts Hall before we moved to our current venue, the Kloof Civic Centre; as it has become more popular we needed a bigger venue to expand our footprint.”

Asked what people can expect at the market, she said there are usually about 50 curated stalls.

“From fashion and quirky gifts to vintage, antiques, preloved treasures, jewellery, craft, art, delicious specialty food stalls, beauty, fascinating exotic plant stalls, health, young entrepreneur stalls, and our exclusive valuation feature (antiques roadshow).

“The market is super family-friendly, fur kids welcome, with a signature retro music vibe and delicious food stalls, plus live entertainment.”

Hanekom thanked people who have supported this market and commended the municipality that takes care of the hall.

“They have been amazing,” she said. For details contact Hanekom on 073 625 6427.

Sanelisiwe Tsinde

My name is Sanelisiwe Tsinde, and I'm a mother of two boys and very family-oriented. Being a community journalist for years, I can proudly say I love writing about positive community news articles and giving a voice to the voiceless. Seeing people getting assistance warms my heart. Every day is a different challenge and a new learning opportunity. I supply news for our trusted publication weekly, and a few years ago, Caxton ventured into online publication, so I contribute daily to the websites. I could say I am a multimedia journalist, and working in a community newspaper is beneficial as we do not focus on one thing but we do a bit of everything.
