Hillcrest High alumni qualify as doctors
The three learners, who matriculated as part of the Class of 2018, have recently qualified from Wits with their Bachelor of Medicine degrees.
HILLCREST High School has expressed its pride after three of its alumni graduated with their Bachelor of Medicine degrees.
“We are incredibly proud to announce that three of our learners who matriculated as part of the Class of 2018 have recently qualified from the University of Witwatersrand (Wits) with their Bachelor of Medicine degrees (MBBCh),” said Hillcrest High School principal Denise Knight.
“Well done to Thabiso Kunene, Mandy Pitchers, and Natalie Fortmann. We are pleased that the excellent foundation you established at Hillcrest High School has stood you in great stead to achieve your dreams of becoming doctors!”

In their matric year at Hillcrest High School Pitchers was awarded the Proxime Accesit Dux (Runner-up to Dux) Trophy, The Walsh Trophy for the Pursuit of Excellence and The Evelyn Forrest Cup for the Greatest Contribution to Cultural Affairs. She also achieved Honours Cum Laude in her Grade 12 year and achieved nine distinctions in the National Senior Certificate exams.
Kunene was the winner of the ItshweleLempangele Award – the Spirit of Togetherness Trophy for his contribution to the school and the Marshall Shield for Best Senior All-Round Sportsman, while Fortmann achieved seven distinctions in the National Senior Certificate examinations.
