Man arrested in Westville for allegedly raping stepdaughter

A 45-year-old man arrested for the alleged rape of his nine-year-old stepdaughter is set to appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court.

A 45-YEAR-OLD man who was arrested for allegedly raping his nine-year-old stepdaughter is expected to appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court today, Monday, January 5.

Westville SAPS communications officer Captain Elizabeth Squires said members of Westville Crime Prevention, together with Pinetown FCS, tracked down the suspect wanted for rape in Westville.

“Upon entering the driveway of the said suspect, members noticed the suspect run away, jumping through properties to evade arrest.

“Members immediately gave chase on foot and successfully apprehended the suspect who was hiding on a roof on one of the properties nearby,” reported Squires.

The suspect was arrested and detained at Westville SAPS.
