Celebrate Valentine’s Day the pawsome way

Kloof and Highway SPCA is hosting a Valentine’s Day trail run at Fig Tree Farm, inviting families and dog lovers to support animals in need.

THE Kloof and Highway SPCA invites animal lovers, runners, families and their four-legged companions to celebrate Valentine’s Day by taking part in a trail run on Sunday, February 15 at the Fig Tree Farm in Hillcrest.

The Valentine’s Day Trail Run fundraising event, sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition, promises a memorable morning set in beautiful natural surroundings, all in support of animals in need.

Participants can choose between two routes; 8km trail run, starting at 08:00, entrance fee is R140. No dogs are permitted on the 8km route.

Staring shortly after will be a 4km trail run/walk, participants pay R80 and dogs on leads are welcome on the 4km route.

Kloof and Highway SPCA’s Brigitte Ferguson said the event is designed for all fitness levels and encourages participants to take along family, friends and furry Valentines for a morning of outdoor fun.

“There will be fantastic prizes for both runners and their dogs, as well as exciting lucky draw prizes up for grabs.

“Adding extra value to the morning, Hayley Wood from Hill’s Pet Nutrition will be on site to chat with participants, offering expert advice and answering questions on pet nutrition and well-being,” said Ferguson.

After completing the run or walk, participants are invited to relax, enjoy breakfast, and explore the shops at Fig Tree Farm.
