Robotics room being constructed at Gillitts Primary

Principal Arti Jadoo appeals to donors to sponsor the school for the construction of the two foundation phase classrooms.

CONSTRUCTION work is on track at Gillitts Primary School for a robotics room for the foundation phase after the school introduced the subject for that level this year.

School principal Arti Jadoo said a library for the phase is also near completion, whilst the play area is due for an upgrade.

“Our future plans include building two classrooms for the foundation phase. Once those are complete, then we will build a robotics centre for the senior phase,” said Jadoo.

The principal appealed to donors to sponsor the school for the construction of the two foundation phase classrooms. Organisations, businesses or individuals who wish to become involved can contact the school directly.

Jadoo said these important infrastructure and resource development projects are aimed at enhancing both academic delivery and learner development.

“Once the robotics room has been finalised, the facility will introduce learners to coding, robotics and problem-solving skills aligned with the demands of 21st-century education, supporting innovation, critical thinking and digital literacy,” said Jadoo.

She said the foundation phase library will be purposefully designed to meet the developmental and literacy needs of young learners.

“This age-appropriate learning space will provide a welcoming environment that encourages reading, curiosity and a lifelong love for learning,” said Jadoo.

In support of physical development and school sport, Gillitts Primary School has received a sponsorship of grass from Grassroots for its sports field.

“This contribution has already significantly improved the quality and safety of the playing surface, benefiting learners across sporting and physical education activities.

“These developments reflect Gillitts Primary School’s continued commitment to providing a well-resourced, progressive and learner-centred educational environment. The school extends its sincere appreciation to all sponsors and stakeholders whose ongoing support makes these projects possible,” said Jadoo.
