Hillcrest High School matrics glam it up at matric dance

The weather held beautifully, giving the arrivals a chance to pose for the many photographers.

THE Hillcrest High School Matric Dance was a glamourous affair with matric learners and their partners sparkling as they stepped onto the red carpet at the school on the night of April 11.

The weather held beautifully, giving the arrivals a chance to pose for the many photographers as they made their way through the glowing archway into the CM Girvin Multi-Purpose Centre where the dance was held.

“The arrivals did not disappoint, with various ‘Out There’ modes of transport ranging from golf carts to speed boats, a deep sea fishing boat and a game viewing vehicle (with the couple sporting veldskoen and funky socks), to a Harley Davidson motorbike entourage and many luxury and vintage cars too,” said Hillcrest High School principal Denise Knight.

“Inside the venue was transformed into an oasis of glitz and glamour.

“The matrics were clearly amazed at how the event organisers, led by deputy principal Mrs Carol-Lee Edy and educator Mrs Megan McLaughlin, had turned the sports arena into an almost unrecognisable venue, complete with draping, décor, elegant table settings, a 360-degree photo booth and a glam arrival zone to take photos,” said principal Denise Knight.

“They enjoyed a night of fun and dancing and I am sure it was a very memorable evening for all.”
